Art spends more time listening than speaking during the initial complimentary consultation. While most financial planners just ask about basic wants and needs, he delves into each client’s lifestyle, asking questions such as what vacations do they see themselves taking in retirement, which restaurants would they like to frequent, how often would they like to visit their kids?
Then he broadens people’s perspective of needing one lump sum to safely retire. He breaks down retirement incrementally into segments of time, from the early “go go” years, where people will be more active, to the “no no” years, when their health might be declining, and they’ll be less active. Then he adjusts the savings planning to suit those.
